My Treasures from Seoul, Korea

Hello I'm back from Seoul! It was a relaxing yet exhausting trip. We only went to two places a day but as we had to walk all the time, it was really exhausting. We ate a lot and I'll show you some pictures later~

As planned, we went to a fabric market. Most fabrics there are for clothes but not for patchwork and home decor so I only got a green Lecien Old New Fabric Collection 30's. Apart from that, I got some really really cute trims, buttons and charms.

Let's have a closer look:

The bunny buttons are so cute~

This charm is my favourite. It's a bit expensive so I only bought 3.

All the birdies and cages are so cute!

I may put some on my etsy shop later.

Wonderland Rabbit Embroidery...and Christmas Wreath

Love at first sight! This was my feeling when I first saw this wonderland rabbit embroidery pattern on flickr. I stitched most of the pattern last night and finished it just now. What should I make? Maybe a tote bag?

and I want to show you what I made in the weekend - a Christmas wreath. It's not finished yet. I just pinned them together. Actually it did not turn out like what I envisioned and I got really disappointed about it. Now this star, birdie, candy cane, also a mushroom and a little tree, which are not shown here, are lying hopelessly in a corner of my sewing desk....how do you find this wreath? honestly it looks better here in this photo. I tried to position them in different angles but they look really terribly messy...

Lecien - Old New Fabric Collection 30's

I have been searching this Lecien collection for some time. I searched America fabric shops, Japan fabric shops, etsy and when I almost gave up, I found it from an online shop in China! It only has around half yard of each and I bought all of them. When I received the package yesterday, I couldn't help smiling and keep showing them to my colleagues.

Aren't they gorgeous? What should I make? I'm thinking tissue box case, tote bag, little pouch, and maybe a Christmas wreath!!

As I know this collection is difficult to get now, I'm putting 2 sets on my newly opened etsy shop.

New Bag for Our Camera

My husband and I are going to Seoul, Korea for a few days to eat and shop in late September. He has been urging me to make a  bag for our camera ever since we bought the travel packages (actually it was just last Saturday). We bought this camera, Olympus EPL1 last year and he purposely bought a cloth from Japan website to wrap our camera. However, he now found that it's not convenient to wrap and unwrap the camera all the time so he thinks it would be better to have a bag for it. As there is no official camera bag for it, he urged me to make one.

So here it is!!

This is by far the most complicated bag I have ever made. I have been struggling with what fabric to use as I know I am supposed to use neutral fabric but not floral or girly ones as we share this camera. However, when looking into the fabric I have, I can't help but to choose pink and polka dots.

I am very satisfied with this project ^^. I wish I can go to Seoul sooner. I read from the travel book and  learnt that there is a market that sells fabric, trims, ribbon!!!! We will go there on the first day. I can't wait.

Originally we planned to go to Taipei of Taiwan as I wanted to go to the fabric market there. Many people from Hong Kong go there as there are lots of fabric at a good price. However, we went to Taipei for our wedding pictures 3 years ago but we haven't been to Seoul together, so we resolved to go to Seoul. Now I found that there is fabric market in Seoul, which is a bonus to me!!!

By the way, I took a picture of my pink dresden coaster and my mug. I think they look really good together. Aren't they cute? The bunny is so happy ^^

Cell Phone Cases

What phone are you using? iphone? Everyone is using iphone but my husband like android system, so my sister and I both use Samsung's Galaxy S. It's easy to get iphone accessories but not for Galaxy S. Therefore, I made these two cell phone cases. The green one is for myself while the pink one is for my sister.

Pink Dresden Coaster for Myself

When I was a teenager, I do not particularly like pink. I studied in a Catholic girls' school and my uniform was pink!! I wore pink for 7 years and had no feeling for it, don't particularly like it nor hate it. But when I started to sew, I found that most beautiful fabrics come in red and pink and I can't stop buying them.

This coaster will be for my mug in office. Can you see my circle? It's still not perfect!! Seems even worse than the coaster I made for my sweet colleague. I'll work hard on it!!!!!

Document Case for a Colleague

It will be my organization's Annual General Meeting and Annual Dinner in the coming Thursday. Every year in the AGM, my organization presents award to staff who had served for 10 years, 15 years, 20 years etc. One of my buddies at work will get her 10-year award and I made this document case as a present for her.
